    • IKON in Your Home!  The Newman Idea has launched IKONline

Experience The Newman Idea through IKONline—our IKON courses taught virtually and in person by TNI professors to students around the country.

These synchronous online courses closely replicate the in-person experience of the IKON Program.  The Newman Idea is all about personal influence in education, and here small groups of students dive into deep discussions of faith and insight under the guidance of two TNI professors.

You can join IKONline today from wherever you are, regardless of any restrictions on in-person learning.  Please visit our IKON Program page for more information on course offerings and registration.

A little background: In 2016 Dr. David Delio and Dr. Joshua Brumfield successfully launched a fully synchronous online Master's degree at the University of Holy Cross.  We championed the use of Zoom and other technologies and truly learned how to create a great virtual culture.  We also pioneered a unique adaptation in-class and virtual learning in which a small group of students could be in class and while others are fully interacting live via Zoom or some other social platform.
      • Our virtual/hybrid format meets the needs of the moment, especially to allow for social distancing and interacting virtually.

We have now added another innovation to IKONline: instructional teams.  Our classes now feature 2-3 professors discussing and sharing different perspectives with students, and providing the ability to mentor them one on one.

IKONline enables us to continue helping students to integrate their faith with their courses, majors and their future careers. We've developed a strong sense of community with the Tulane students in IKON NOLA and are excited to continue our classes with them.

      • We are reaching students across the country and will be teaching a Fall 2021 course "Going Global: Christian Culture in the World" in which students from anywhere can join.  The course will meeting information is TBA, but will include in class and zoom attendance options. Details on the course and a registration form are HERE.

      •  Please visit our IKON PROGRAM page for more information on our courses and readings!

The Newman Idea (TNI) is a religious and educational 501(c)(3) inspired by St. John Henry Newman, the great cardinal and patron of higher education.   TNI's mission is to teach the innovative IKON Program, which teaches Catholic students to think with faith as they seek truth.
